The Didgeridoo is an ancient, primitive
instrument created and played for centuries
by the Aborigines of Northern Australia. Books have been written stating that it is
the oldest musical instrument on the planet. Typically made from different species
of
eucalyptus saplings, it is then hollowed out naturally by termites or white ants.
The peaceful and sometimes eerie sound that emanates from the Didgeridoo has
within its harmonics the rhythm of pure healing while capturing the tone of the
planet.
The instrument is used to accompany singing, dancing, drumming, and many forms
of healing. The unique sound creates space for people to drop out of their normal
patterns of life and indulge their spirits to soar in other dimensions.
Technically, the Didgeridoo is a lip-vibrated aerophone. Your airstream passes
through your vibrating lips to create a truly unique, sometimes mystical, sound.
It is my hope your spirit will connect with the Higher Power when
you play this instrument as I did.
Since I am not able to train termites to hollow at will, or find any white ants around my
neck of the woods, I have found another creative path to achieve the same goal with
making these instruments. I create these Didgeridoos from 3 sources
As each instrument is an
individual work of art, I offer workshops in Sedona, Arizona
for groups and private one on one instruction. This will allow students
to "put themselves" into their creation. Seminars and workshops are also
available in your area based on the number of participants.
